

Trombonist
Anna Swynford, a graduate of Manhattan School of Music, where she received the John Clark Award for excellence in Brass Performance, has performed with the Boston Pops, Baltimore Symphony Orchestra and Tanglewood Festival Orchestra, as well as numerous local and regional orchestras. She studied three summers at the Aspen Music Festival and spent a summer as a prestigious Tanglewood Orchestra Fellow. After winning the Wheaton College Winds Concerto Competition, she was a featured soloist with the Wheaton College Symphony Orchestra. As a Farwell Award winner from the Chicago Musicians Club of Women she was featured in their lunchtime recital series. Major teachers include Per Brevig and Daniel Finlayson.
Educator and Conductor
In addition to teaching private trombone lessons Anna is experienced in early childhood music (as a Music Together teacher), elementary music, and college tutoring. She is also an accomplished conductor of both choral and instrumental ensembles. As the Wheaton College Symphony Orchestra Honors Conductor she rehearsed and led a 60-person orchestral ensemble.
